Wild Infusions Herbal Study Returns to the Old Forge Library

Due to the popularity of the past two years of Wild Infusions Herbal Study, the Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., will host a new season of engaging study group sessions led by herbalist Jessica Maureen Hinsdill of Wild Soulstice, LLC.

Each session will explore a single plant commonly found throughout the Adirondacks, providing participants with practical and historical knowledge. Topics include plant identification, traditional and contemporary medicinal uses, herbal preparation methods, terminology, and broader discussions about the role of plants in wellness and community health. This study group offers a welcoming, interactive space for both beginners and experienced herbal enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of local flora.

The next two sessions will be held at 6 pm. on Tuesday, May 13, and Tuesday, June 17:

  • On May 13, the group will explore Nettles, a nutrient-rich plant with a long tradition of medicinal use for inflammation, allergies, and more.
  • On June 17, the focus will shift to Roses, examining their benefits for the skin, heart, and emotional well-being.

Additional sessions are planned monthly from July through October, each featuring a different Adirondack plant.

Sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged. Call 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org with any questions or to reserve a spot.
