Trustee Joan Prymas Reappointed for Second Term
HERKIMER, NY, March 29, 2024- Joan Prymas, of Ilion, New York, has been re-appointed as a member of the Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees by Governor Kathy Hochul for a term to expire on June 30, 2025.
Prymas was originally appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo on August 11, 2015. She has served as secretary of the Board since April 2021.
Prymas retired from Herkimer College in 2004 at the rank of professor after more than 30 years of teaching mathematics. Upon retirement, Prymas was awarded emeritus status, an honor granted to retired professional academic and administrative staff by the Board of Trustees to recognize excellence and commitment to Herkimer College.
Prymas holds a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from SUNY Albany. She is a member of the SUNY Retiree Services Corps and serves as member at large on the executive team for NYSUT Retiree Council 39.
