Men’s Basketball Coach Matt Lee Earns Region III Coach of the Year
Four Players Receive All-Region Honors
Lee, who is in his 20th year at the helm of the program, won Region III Coach of the Year for the first time since the 2009-10 season. He boasts a career 494-137 record, including a 27-2 record through the 2023-24 regular season.
The four All-Region selections are the most a Herkimer men’s basketball team has had since 2012-13 when the Generals had three recipients.
Freshman forward Oladele Oladitan, of Staten Island, NY, and sophomore guard Nick Boyce of Queens, NY, each received All-Region First Team honors.
Oladitan led the team with 15.7 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game in his first season with the Generals. Oladitan was just one of six players in Region III to average a double-double per game.
Boyce, the lone returner from last year’s team, led Region III with 3.3 steals per game, averaging 12.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
Freshman Jayson McGhee of New Rochelle, NY, received Second Team All-Region honors despite not starting a game this season. McGhee averaged 14.7 points per game and scored 30 points in a game twice this season.
Sophomore Brandon Harris, of Elmsford, NY, received Third Team All-Region honors, averaging 12.4 points per game and leading the team with a 34.7% three-point shooting percentage.
