Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce Appoints New Executive Director
We are pleased to welcome Denise L. Cavanaugh to the position of Executive Director for the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce beginning May 1st!
Dr. Cavanaugh comes to the position with a unique combination of corporate, higher education, and nonprofit leadership experience. She is the former Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Oneida/Madison County and until taking on her role at the Chamber, has been employed with Herkimer College.
Her proudest accomplishments are her two grown children who currently reside in the New Hartford area. Denise and her husband Barry, are also the proud owners of Raindrops on Roses Bed & Breakfast and Wine Tasting Room in Herkimer.
This appointment comes after Michele Hummel has announced she is stepping down to become the Founding Executive Director for Herkimer Next.
"I'm excited that Denise has accepted the position as Executive Director of the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce. Our board of directors is looking forward to working with Denise. Her background is very extensive as a leader in our community. Michele Hummel, our current director, is stepping down after years of dedicated service. Welcome to Denise, and best of luck Michele" said Richard Dowe, Board President.
Expect to see Denise throughout the county over the next several weeks, greeting current Chamber members and meeting business owners in all parts of Herkimer County.
