Arc Herkimer & Old Forge Library Host Art Reception
Herkimer, NY – Arc Herkimer is excited to announce that the last leg of their 2024 traveling art show - Art Without Boundaries: Arc Herkimer Artists Present – will take place at Old Forge Library.
On January 3, 2025 the agency and library will host an art reception in celebration of the show between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Street, Old Forge. Community members near and far are invited to the reception, where they will enjoy refreshments while viewing eclectic pieces of art.
The library walls will exhibit original artwork created by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Herkimer County who are supported by Arc Herkimer. Pieces include paintings, mixed media, and upcycled art, amongst others.
“We are very excited to collaborate with Old Forge Library for our traveling art show, as Old Forge is an artistic and adventuresome destination area of Herkimer County,” says Catherine Loomis, Vice President - Community Engagement and Career Development. “This is an opportunity to share our work with new and different community members, with a focus on creativity, advocacy, and inclusion for people with disabilities.”
"The Old Forge Library regularly features the work of fine artists. We are excited to host this terrific exhibit from Arc Herkimer, and highlight the talent that exists right here in Herkimer County,” says Linda Weal, Old Forge Library Director.
Art Without Boundaries: Arc Herkimer Artists Present was made possible by a grant from CNY Arts, a regional arts council promoting, supporting, and celebrating arts and culture in Central New York.
